San Isidro

San Isidro is conveniently located near La Laguna, making it a little easier for some children to transition to 7th grade there after completing 6th grade. Most children do not go past 6th grade in school.  In fact, the majority of children stop going after 2nd grade.  The idea of going to secondary school, for most children, is not even considered.

PEH began its service in San Isidro in 2025, inspired by a heartfelt visit from our president, Allison Hicks, who was part of a medical team in the summer of 2024. During her time in the village, she developed a deep connection with the community and felt a strong calling to serve the people of San Isidro.  When Teresa visited the village in September of 2024, she felt the same love and confirmed that God was casting a vision for us to begin serving in San Isidro.

The teacher at San Isidro is Julio.  He is absolutely amazing.  He truly loves the children and the Lord.  It is also evident that the children love him.  Currently, he is the only teacher at the school, and he is teaching Kinder through 6th grade.  Approximately 30 children are enrolled, and he goes from room to room to teach each of the grade levels.  We are praying that a Kinder teacher will soon be appointed.  In 2025, PEH replaced the windows and doors and painted the inside of the building that is being used.  There is still work to be done at the school, including renovating the bathrooms and Kinder building.  However, Julio is so appreciative of everything that has been completed so far, and for the partnership with PEH.  We give God thanks that He led us to the school in San Isidro!

Click to experience PURE JOY!

The children learned about original sin and created a "snake.".  The craft then became a windmill!  The children find so much joy in absolutely everything!
