Hacienda San Juan

On the way to Hacienda San Juan, you pass by San Miguel.  The ride to the school is interesting and scenic.  Through pastures, creeks, and gates, it takes some time to get to your destination.  When we first visited Hacienda San Juan, Ada was the teacher.  On that first day meeting her, she was having class on the small front porch of the community leader of Hacienda San Juan.  We were told that there was no longer a building for the children to use as a school.  The community attempted to make repairs to the roof, and when they did, the building collapsed.  The spot where the old building existed is now barren.  The community asked for help to rebuild the structure.  However, there was silence.  Individuals in the community built a shelter to be used as a school until a new building was constructed.  It was bigger than the front porch and allowed for more room for the children to assemble and learn.  However, there is no way for items to be secured, and there are no bathrooms.

In November of 2025, the dream of having a new building in Hacienda San Juan became a reality.  God provided mightily and preparations were made to begin construction as quickly as possible.  After the cement arrived, individuals in the community began to build the new school, which will have two rooms.  In addition, new bathrooms will be built.  Construction is currently happening on the building.  A dedication of the building will take place in the summer of 2026.

Alba moved to Hacienda San Juan in the spring of 2025 to be the Director and teach grades 1-6, replacing Ada.  She and Teresa began developing a true friendship when Alba was teaching at San Miguel, another one of PEH's schools.  In fact, San Miguel was the first school that PEH school built.  Nayeli is the Kinder teacher at Hacienda San Juan.  Together, they have approximately 42 children on the class list.  God has put together a dynamic team of teachers for the community of Hacienda San Juan.  They are both committed to teaching the children about Jesus and to growing in their relationship with the Lord.

Alba's faith continues to amaze us, and we are grateful that she is continuing to serve God in one of PEH's schools.  ONLY GOD would create a situation in which the same teacher of great faith happened to be at the right place --  Hacienda San Juan! -- at the right time just when God supplied the funds!  Alba could now facilitate the building of a much needed new school!  This proclaims the one true GOD is to be praised and honored! There are no coincidences!  There is only our God!  Amen!
